You could probably spend the rest of your life evaluating all
of the speakers out there. So many different philosophies about
what makes a good speaker: engineering, look, size, power requirements,
placement, company reputation, even the cabinet finish.
Then, whatever you do choose has to be matched to an amplifier
that will make them sound the way they should. How many manufacturers
and retailers have given you all the facts you need to make the
right choices? Well, that's what we're here for. At Advanced
Audio, we sell solutions, not just components.
We don't demand
too much of speakers. They only have to do everything well:
sound great, represent great value, and the company must
have a well-earned reputation for standing behind their products.
Two manufacturers that have stood out are NHT and Revel .
We have been representing NHT since we opened.
They make great speakers and stand firmly behind their
products. We have been selling Revel speakers
since 1998, and we believe that there is no better speaker
for the money. A little more recently we have chosen Niles for
dependable, good sounding outdoor and "rock" camouflage
speakers.

Tom's
Take:
When choosing speakers for a surround system, always
evaluate them in stereo mode first. If they don't sound
good in stereo, adding three more speakers isn't going
to magically transform the sound into something special.
When you come in to talk about a system, I spend the
most time researching the best speakers to recommend
to you. All of the other components depend on which speakers
you select, so I need to be sure you are getting the
best speakers for the job. I ask a lot of questions:
room sizes and configurations, existing components, cosmetic
considerations and, of course, budget. Once you have
found the right speakers, the other system components
can be carefully selected to provide the best possible
match for your speakers. |
